Volunteer Administrators of Western New York (VAWNY) recently recognized their employee, Eileen Nowak, with the Gretchen E. Stringer Volunteer Administrator of the Year Award. Nowak is department director for Parish Outreach and Advocacy for Catholic Charities of Buffalo.

Nowak is a 21-year employee of Catholic Charities, and oversees a staff of 15 who coordinate more than 1,000 volunteers for numerous programs. She also serves as the vice president of VAWNY, past president of Broadway Market, and chairs several committees at Catholic Charities. Nowak resides in Williamsville with her husband, David.
