Former Evans Town Councilwoman Karen Erickson was recently recognized by the Erie County Legislature for her dedication and service to the community.

Erickson, who served on the board for the past 12 years, saw her seat on the Evans Town Board eliminated due to the downsizing measure that was approved by voters last year. During her years of service Erickson worked on many projects, including the development and implementation of the town's multi-use pathway, the merger of the Village of Angola Police Department into the Town of Evans Police Department, consolidation of the town's water department with the Erie County Water Authority, the establishment of the Southtowns Community Enhancement Coalition, establishing a 24-hour ambulance service for the town and the upcoming residential enhancement project.
