McManus honored by Hochul in Hamburg
Erie County Clerk Kathy Hochul recognized Rose Mary McManus during the opening ceremonies of the 11th annual Blast on the Beach celebration held last month in the Town of Hamburg. The official certificate read as follows:

"On behalf of the residents of Erie County, a heartfelt thank you for your continuous efforts to promote and enhance the quality of life in your community. You are truly the driving force behind ’Blast on the Beach,’ right from its inception as a ’once every Millennium event’ to an annual celebration of family, community and the beautiful shores of Lake Erie. Your dedication to this event is exceptional and you should know how much the participants in ’Blast on the Beach’... from the members of the Town Rejuvenation Project, the employees, vendors, sponsors and above all the residents, truly appreciate all you do."

Hochul, a former Town of Hamburg councilwoman, began the Town Rejuvenation Project, which hosts the Blast on the Beach on the last Saturday of each July, the annual Town of Hamburg Townwide Community Clean-up, the town’s Beatification Awards, Christmas at the Cabin, holiday decorations and much more. McManus, an employee of the Town of Hamburg who worked closely with Hochul when she was a councilwoman, now coordinates the Town of Hamburg Rejuvenation Committee.
