What a Man Needs
Women might be quick to answer "sex" when asked what a man needs, but hold on a minute-not so fast. Though I’m sure that’s important, it actually wasn’t mentioned at all in a recent study given to several men. Participants were asked what their wives, or future wives could do in order to make them feel like a king.
Most of the men listed things their wives could do for them without being asked. Thoughtful acts of service, such as fixing their plate for them at a party, taking care of them when they were sick, making their favorite meal, and massaging their feet were mentioned most. Other areas of importance were respect, not talking about, or checking out other guys, & being able to calmly & effectively communicate with each other.
Is it any wonder why there are so many broken marriages today? With the busy lifestyles we live, our marriages tend to get the least amount of attention. Think about it ladies, today’s “wonder woman” is expected to be a teacher, a chef, a house keeper, a therapist, a baby-sitter, a chauffeur to their kids, a waitress, and let’s not forget a mom. And, that doesn’t include a career outside of the home! Now, let’s factor in time to exercise, and take care of our own needs. So, where do our husbands fit in? The truth is that many of us are neglecting them. Yes, life is busy, and our “to do list” never seems to end. No, it’s not impossible! Carve out a little time to speak to the king in your husband today. A little bit will go a long way. Put him at the top of your to do list. In the same way that planting one seed can yield a big crop; letting your spouse know that he’s your # 1 through your words & actions will do wonders for your relationship.
